Boxing Truth Radio: Super Middleweight Tournament Cometh!
hosted by Chavez and Lois

Jul 05, 2009 -

On the 99th anniversary of African-American Jack Johnson's victory over heavyweight Jim Jeffries - an event which caused racial riots through-out the United States - there were no major boxing events on American soil during the fourth of July.

Even with a lack of boxing action, The Boxing Truth Radio lived on with Chavez and Lois discussing a wide array of headlines from the world of fist and cuffs.

SHOWTIME CLOSE TO CREATING A SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT TOURNAMENT

Chavez and Lois agree that any tournament is good for the sport, but a tournament in one of boxing's best divisions would be incredible.  Rumored participants include Mikkel Kessler, Andre Ward, Andre Dirrel, Carol Froch, Jermain Taylor, and Arthur Abraham.

Why not tournaments each year in two of the original eight weight classes and create a Boxing World Cup that cycles through every division over a span of four years?

THE BEST OF THE BOXING BOARDS

FightHype takes the prize when du365 asks his fellow community members, "What are the best quotes from boxing cornermen?"  du365 loves Bruce Seldon's corner telling him, "How you gonna lose to a man with titties?," when fighting Gerald Nobles.

ERIK MORALES SAYS MEXICO LACKS SOLID YOUNG STARS

One of Mexico's true boxing legends Erik Morales spoke out this week by saying that his country is not creating any new young stars.  When brainstorming for candidate, Chavez and Lois hit a roadblock, though users brought up names of young bucks Saul Alvarez and Antonio De Marco.

All this and much, much, more on The Boxing Truth Radio!
