It has been announced that the October 25th pay-per-view card headlined by a bout between WBC Jr. Middleweight world champion Sebastian Fundora defending his title against former WBA Welterweight world champion Keith Thurman , which was scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV and streamed on Prime Video has been postponed due to a hand injury suffered by the champion. It has also been reported by noted Boxing journalist Mike Coppinger , currently of Ring Magazine that the scheduled co-main event, a WBC World Jr. Lightweight championship bout between between champion O'Shaquie Foster and former Jr. Featherweight world champion Stephen Fulton , will also be rescheduled. One of the biggest fights of 2023 will take place on Tuesday, July 25th in Tokyo, Japan as undefeated unified WBO/WBC Jr. Featherweight world champion Stephen Fulton will defend his crown against undefeated former Undisputed Bantamweight champion of the world Naoya Inoue. The bout, which can be seen here in the United States on digital subscription sports streaming network ESPN+ not only brings together two of the top stars in Boxing's lower weight divisions, but also presents an interesting clash of styles. Fulton, who will enter the bout unbeaten in twenty-one professional bouts is a slick boxer/puncher that has thus far has proven to be elusive and a difficult puzzle for opponents to solve. As the Boxing world was preparing for a busy day on Saturday, June 4th highlighted in large part by the Undisputed Lightweight world championship bout between undefeated champion George Kambosos and undefeated WBC number one contender Devin Haney in Melbourne, Australia, this observer was somewhat sidelined by effects from the topical weather system that would eventually be named tropical storm Alex. While fortunately, the effects in terms of weather turned out to be minimal for yours truly, it nevertheless made my usual coverage of Boxing cards difficult due to periodic technological outages.
