Dragon Fire Boxing promoter Tony Tolj is expecting fireworks when the iconic Thunderdome series returns to Metro City Arena this Friday, August 28, with Thunderdome 55 shaping up as one of the strongest cards of the year.

The event marks the 55th edition of Thunderdome and the third instalment of the series on Dragon Fire Boxing’s 2026 schedule, bringing together an explosive mix of undefeated fighters, rising prospects, seasoned veterans and hungry debutants.

Headlining the card is undefeated Irishman and new Dragon Fire Boxing signing Owen “Bomber” Corrigan (6-0), who steps up to Cruiserweight for the first time to face highly regarded Fijian Paulo Ratumaikoro.

Ratumaikoro is the type of opponent who welcomes a challenge and has built a reputation for taking on anyone willing to share the ring with him. The Fijian has already faced a number of respected opponents, including undefeated prospect Omar El-Abdallah, Kirra Ruston, Donald Jones and Benjamin Hussein.

For Corrigan, the fight represents another major step forward.

“Owen has gone through more than a dozen opponents who have committed and then pulled out,” Tolj said.

“He's got the right mentality. He basically said, ‘Just put me in that ring and I'll fight anyone.’

“He's now ranked No. 14 at Light Heavyweight in Australia, and I'm very pleased with the improvements he's made under Angelo Hyder and Tony Nobbs.

“Corrigan has caught the attention of fans with his aggression and power — and he's called ‘Bomber’ for a reason.”

The undefeated Irishman now faces perhaps his toughest test yet as he makes the move up in weight.

LETHAL LEWIS READY FOR REMATCH

One of Perth's most entertaining fighters, Joel “Lethal” Lewis, returns against China's Weifang Li in a highly anticipated rematch.

Lewis has built a reputation for being involved in action-packed contests, while Li will be determined to upset the Perth favourite and derail his momentum.

“Joel is always in an exciting fight,” Tolj said.

“His Chinese opponent is looking to test Joel and upset the apple cart. One thing about Chinese fighters is that you can never write them off.”

Lewis has been putting in the work behind the scenes and is determined to take his career to another level.

“He has the tools, and with the right discipline, this kid can go very far once he fully commits,” Tolj added.

“Joel wants the knockout. He doesn't want to leave it in the hands of the judges.”

BIG BAD BAZLEY CHASING THE KO BONUS

Michael “Big Bad” Bazley is quickly developing a cult following in Perth and will look to continue his unbeaten start against tough Chinese opponent Sheng Xu.

Bazley enters the contest with a perfect 3-0 record and has made no secret of his intentions.

“He's vowed to take home the KO bonus,” Tolj said. “He's had three fights and three wins, and he wants to extend that streak.”

SABURI LOOKING TO BREAK INTO THE ELITE

Rising prospect Tanaka Saburi (3-1) faces China's Jingyang Chen (3-1) in what promises to be an intriguing clash between two evenly matched prospects.

Saburi has already broken into the Australian top 15 and sees Friday night as another opportunity to prove he belongs among the country's best.

“Both prospects are coming prepared to give everything they have and showcase who is the best prospect,” Tolj said.

“Saburi has cracked the top 15 in the national ratings and is looking to earn his stripes and eventually take on the elite Australian boxers.”

BIG BOSH BILLY LOOKING FOR REDEMPTION

Billy “Big Bosh” Quinncroft returns hungry to get back into the win column following his hard-fought battle with ANBF Australasian Champion Lewis Clarke in March.

Quinncroft now faces Theepakorn Pankasem in what Tolj describes as a redemption fight.

“Billy has left no stone unturned,” Tolj said. “He's looking to return to the winning column and show what he's capable of.”

DOOM FIST FACES TOUGH TEST

Fresh from an explosive knockout victory over former ONE Championship World Champion Suzuki, “Doom Fist” Manny Ritti returns to action against the durable Liang Wang.

Wang is no stranger to Corrigan, having taken the undefeated Irishman the distance on two occasions.

The question now is whether Ritti can become the first man to stop him.

“Can he stop Wang? We will see Friday night,” Tolj said.

JYE CHIN LOOKING TO CEMENT HIS RATING

CNS Fight Team's Jye Chin is another fighter making waves on the national scene.

Chin has recently entered the Australian rankings at No. 13 at Super Middleweight and will face Indonesia's Laurensius Lowa as he looks to strengthen his claim among the country's best.

“Jye has a very deceptive record,” Tolj said. “He's looking to let his hands fly and cement his claim as one of the best Super Middleweights in the country.”

MORE ACTION ON A STACKED UNDERCARD

The card also features Michelle Lynch vs Harma Yesti over four rounds, a contest Tolj believes could be a genuine fight-of-the-night candidate.

• Shaun Bayne vs Adam Milnes

• Brendan Drummond-Hay vs Nicolas Serano

• Joe Scaffidi vs Ratiphong Khamthao in Scaffidi's professional debut

With such a diverse lineup, Tolj believes fans are in for a night featuring everything professional boxing has to offer.

“I can't wait for Friday,” Tolj said.

“World Champion Andrew Moloney and his brother Jason will be in the house. It has the makings of a special night with a great mixture of technical fights, bangers, new blood and veterans.”

With Corrigan making his Cruiserweight debut, Lewis looking to settle the score, Bazley chasing another knockout, Saburi fighting to climb the rankings, Chin, Ritti, Lynch and a host of hungry prospects ready to make their mark, Thunderdome 55 promises to deliver another explosive night of professional boxing.

Bruno Tarimo Returns To Headline Dragon Fire Boxing's Next Event; BOXINGMANIA August 8th

Press Release: July 20, 2026 By  Dragon Fire Boxing - Tarimo (29-5-2, 8 KOs) soared into the super featherweight rankings after a string of upset victories over Aussie contenders Billy Dib, Joel Brunker, and Nathaniel May in 2019. Tarimo’s link-up with Aussie trainer Angelo Hyder and manager Tony Tolj saw him become a firm fixture on the Australian and world boxing scene.

Bruno was originally scheduled for a title fight in Fiji on February 7, but that fight date has been repeatedly changed. Tarimo is now headlining a WBA Oceania Featherweight Championship challenge against China Junlun Zhao 12-2

“It’s frustrating with the date constantly being changed, but I know my team (Dragon Fire Boxing) has done everything possible doing and has my best interests at heart. Andrew has become world champion again, and Jason Moloney has signed with Zuffa and I will become world champions from the gym.”

“I had nothing lined up after many date changes in Fiji and Dragon Fire Boxing has put on an event just for me to get me going and I will give everything I can in the ring to become a champion again”

Longtime manager Tony Tolj said: “We are planning a big 2026, where we can get him back in the rankings and challenge for a world title. He wants to campaign at featherweight; we believe he can compete there, and it’s his natural weight. He was fighting up at super featherweight, which wasn’t his weight. But during COVID times, they couldn’t get anyone into the country, so he jumped up. He just kept fighting Aussie after Aussie and kept beating everyone. He ended up getting into a position where he was fighting in a world title eliminator.

“He lives close to Jason and Andrew [Moloney], and young prospect Jesse Wicks is around there as well. They are all friends; Bruno is another extension of our boxing family. He will be a big help in Jason’s next fight on the Gold Coast on the Opetaia card, in Andrew’s IBF world title challenge next year, and in Bruno’s big year coming up. He’s been a big part of all the major camps we have had with the Moloneys. Takei had eight fights with eight knockouts at that point, but Bruno’s fight was stopped due to a cut. He’s world class, and 2026 is going to be a standout year for him.

“Bruno has evolved and gone to the next level and was the chief sparring partner for Jason in his IBF Intercontinental title fight victory. Bruno was preparing for his own title fight, but that got delayed.

“First thing I need to do is get him active, then back into the world ratings,” Tolj added. “Now we can get him into a position where he will fight for a world title. Now he is going to be settled, not worrying about his family, not detached from those he loves. I think he will have a good run now, and I’m really looking forward to seeing Bruno achieve all he can achieve.”

Billy Quinncroft Fired Up For His First State Title Shot

On the 30th of May, Dragonfire Promotions hits the Metro City Night Club for the second time this year for Thunderdome 50.

 

The main event features the return of Francis “The Removalist” Chua who takes on China’s 4th ranked lightweight Xiaotao Su for the WBC Australasia Silver Lightweight title in his first fight in three years.

 

Before the headliner however, Billy Quinncroft has his first attempt at a state title when he takes on the hard-hitting WA fighter Bilal Seidu.

 

When speaking to the 33-year-old, Quinncroft revealed that he had switched his fight camp to Big Rigs Gym in Malaga as he was taking the sport more seriously.

 

“I've levelled up my training massively” Quinncroft told, “I've just recently changed gyms to Big Rigs gym, I'm going in strong and fit. 

 

“I'm excited and I'm ready to go.” 

 

In his last outing, the Englishman kept his unbeaten record intact when he scored a first-round stoppage victory over Alex Muster back in March this year.

 

Despite claiming the first stoppage win of his career, Quinncroft stated he was slightly disappointed in how the fight turned out.

 

“To be honest, [for the fight] to be done in the first round was a bit disappointing.” Quinncroft revealed.

 

“I know that sounds crazy probably to say, but in the first round you're not even getting going, you're just sort of settling into the fight. 

 

“It was great to have on the record, but I guess it felt a little bit unrewarding that it got done that quick and I didn't get time to fully settle into the fight and have a good clash.”

 

Looking back at Quinncroft’s journey in the sport, it is remarkable to learn that the 33-year-old only made his debut back in November of last year.

 

Fast Forward six months later, Quinncroft is fighting for the State Cruiserweight Championship. 

 

When asked about his overall progression, Quinncroft said that he feels that he is getting better every week.

 

“I'm probably getting better every week, to be honest” Quinncroft said.

 

“I haven't been boxing for too long. I've always played football but as I was getting a bit older, I thought I would try something different and sort of just fell into boxing. 

 

“I have done it on and off over the years to just keep fit so it's crazy when you look at it. I think I jumped in headfirst in November having my first pro fight to now battling for a state title.

 

“So I guess you just take opportunities when they land, I think that's what I've done with this. I'm not one to turn down an opportunity. I'm going to take this with both hands and bring it home.”

 

Standing in his way of a state title is Bilal Seidu. Dubbed “The Black Hulk”, Seidu is known in the WA boxing scene as a power puncher and he also rides an undefeated record with two wins and one draw.

 

Having spared with him in the past, Quinncroft knows that he is expecting his biggest test yet on May 30th.

 

“You can just look at him and see he's a big lump of muscle” Quinncroft joked, “but he was a good lad. 

 

“I've done some rounds with him in the past and he's a tough guy, he's a big, strong boy. I've just got to do what I know I can do and I feel like I will be fine.

 

“I definitely need to be wary and I just can't let myself lapse on the night which I won't, he's a big powerful puncher I know that for sure.”

 

With fast developing skills and motivation for the sport, Billy Quinncroft looks more than ready to claim his first state championship.
