December’s return to the ring promises to showcase Paul’s best effort yet as a hungry fighter ready to do whatever it takes to become a world champion.Facing his first loss at the hands of Tommy Fury in February by a contentious split decision, Paul found himself back on top in August, defeating Nate Diaz by unanimous decision. In just three years since turning pro, Paul has collected multiple accolades including ESPNRingside’s 2021 Knockout of The Year, Sports Illustrated’s 2021 Breakout Boxer of the Year, and ESPNRingside’s 2022 Viral Moment of the Year. He also earned distinction on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s August 2023 issue, “The 50 Most Influential Figures in Sports” for his success in the ring, his groundbreaking work to revolutionize pay equality in boxing and his support of female fighters and boxing prospects through Most Valuable Promotions alongside his MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian.
“8 fights in the boxing game and I’m already its biggest name,” said Jake Paul. “I’ve proved that I can headline the biggest global events and defy the odds. PPV after PPV after PPV, and I’m just getting started. My mission is to be a world champion and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get there. December 15th is the next step on my journey, and I promise you’re not going to want to miss it.”
“Jake’s star power and popularity have proved that he has what it takes to command massive audiences worldwide and become the biggest name in boxing. In just eight professional fights so far, Jake has already demonstrated his historical commercial draw, that he is a force to be reckoned with, and that he is on the way to making an everlasting impact on the sport inside and outside the ring,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions. “We are proud to partner with DAZN to bring Jake Paul back to global audiences on December 15th as he continues his unwavering pursuit to become a world champion and put on massive events.”
“Jake Paul is a superstar in and out the ring and we are excited to once again have him fighting on DAZN,” said Joe Markowski, CEO of DAZN North America. “And what a run of shows DAZN has for you in December! Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, Regis Prograis, Sunny Edwards, Bam Rodriguez and of course Jake Paul all fighting live and only on DAZN."

AUSSIE PROSPECT JORDAN LARUCCIA CAPTURES GOLD AT THUNDERDOME 43
Press Release September 5, 2023 By Dragon Fire Boxing - This past Friday as part of the Main Event of Thunderdome 43 at Metro Ciyt in Perth, Western Australia Jordan Larrucia defeated Fano Kori by unanimous decision for the ANBF (Australian Boxing Federation) Australasian Super Welterweight Championship.
Credit: Mike O'Hara |
The fight was a back-and-forth war with Larrucia cementing himself as one of the rising prospects of the Australian boxing scene.
Jordan Laruccia opened up about the fight;
“I would like to thank so many people, my coach Big Rig (Dayle Phillips), Tony (Tolj), Greeny (Danny Green) in my corner. I really have the best team in the world and I’m always striving to be better.
I had a great camp with Pops (Dayle Phillips) and want to thank all my team mates Jude Grant who won the W.A State Super Welterweight Title, Ryan Daye who had a 28 second KO, Wes Capper and Millad Farzad.
I learnt a lot in there, It was an honour to share the ring with Fano who has so much experience and I will keep training hard and keep improving and be the best I can be.
Promoter Tony Tolj gave his take on the fight;
“The fight was an absolute war of attrition at times, both Jordan and Fano left everything they physically had in that ring. Fano has plenty to give and Jordan has proven he belongs in the elite of the Super Welterweight division in Australia. What’s more remarkable is the fact Jordan hadn’t had 1 amateur boxing fight. He began as a gym cleaner and was asked one day to be a sparring partner because of the guys didn’t show up. Australia is in a boom period now and looking forward to seeing Jordan Laruccia right there in the mix at 24 years old.”

LOGAN PAUL TO FACE DILLON DANIS AT X SERIES SPECTACULAR IN MANCHESTER LIVE ON DAZN
Press Release August 9, 2023 By DAZN-
Paul vs Danis joins KSI vs Tommy Fury at the top of the bill
Tickets for historic X Series event go on General Sale on August 22 – Sign-up for ticket alerts here
Credit: DAZN |
Logan Paul and Dillon Danis will meet head-on as part of the double main event at an extra special X Series event in Manchester, live and exclusive on DAZN.
The AO Arena plays host to a colossal night of crossover boxing on Saturday, October 14 with confirmation of KSI’s monstrous clash with Tommy Fury creating a frenzy among fight fans.
But the headline-grabbing news that Paul is to fight Danis, on the other side of the double main event, will take the excitement levels to new heights.
Worldwide superstar Paul, who fought Floyd Mayweather in 2021, has made a huge impact in WWE but will return to the boxing ring this autumn to take on MMA bad boy Danis on The Prime Card in Manchester.
There is no love lost between the warring rivals and so the build-up promises to be tense, and the fight is guaranteed to deliver drama by the bucket load.
Logan Paul said: “Almost two years after fighting the greatest boxer of all time, I am so pumped to return to the boxing ring on October 14, for this monster Misfits show.
"Manchester, I hope you are ready for a night you will never forget, because The Prime Card is delivering in a big way, with KSI and I on either side of a double main event.
"The world has seen the energy, athleticism and showmanship I've brought to WWE, but this October I plan on reminding everyone that I can bring it to boxing too."
Dillon Danis said: "I couldn't care less what Logan Paul has done in the WWE, because when he is in the boxing ring, he is in a completely different world. It's a world of pain, a world where he doesn't have control and it's my world, not his. On October 14, in Manchester, Logan Paul is getting beat down.”
Mams Taylor, Co-President of Misfits Boxing said: “After we announced that KSI would be taking on the toughest challenge in crossover boxing, by facing Tommy Fury, I told you to watch this space – and now you know why! The Prime Card is bringing you, the fans, a double main event the likes of which has never been seen before. Having KSI against Fury, and Logan Paul against Dillon Danis, on the same card is truly incredible, it’s history in the making and I cannot wait until October 14.”
Kalle Sauerland, Co-President of Misfits Boxing said: “What was already the biggest night ever in crossover boxing, has just got even bigger with this announcement! If KSI against Tommy Fury wasn’t huge enough, then the X Series is also bringing you a massive showdown between Logan Paul and Dillon Dannis – all on the same sensational evening in Manchester. This is going to be a night that makes history.”
“We are delighted to have KSI and Logan Paul fighting again on the same card-four years on from their historic fight live on DAZN,” said Joe Markowski, CEO of DAZN North America. “What a night this promises be for cross-over boxing fans worldwide with four huge names in the space creating history. Do not miss this night of toe-to-toe action. Watch it live worldwide on DAZN and DAZN PPV."

RISING STAR ALEX WINWOOD SET FOR WORLD NO.5 REYNERIS GUTIERREZ
Press Release: June 15, 2023 By Dragon Fire Boxing and Michael Clfton - Australia's Alex Winwood may be 2-0 but he has a world title shot in his sights. "I've got the blinders on, and I've got tunnel vision going forward"
Credit: Dragon Fire Boxing |
A 2-0 boxer headlining a major card may raise eyebrows, but it is not unheard of for talented prospects to jump into main event status shortly after turning pro. Now, if the opponent for the 2-0 fighter happens to be the No.5 in their division, expect a lot more eyebrows to be raised upon hearing that news.
However, when it comes to Alex "The A Rock" Winwood, who finds himself in the situation described above, defying expectations is starting to become the norm in regards to his boxing career.
On Friday, 16 June, at Thunderdome 42, the former Olympian will headline his second pay-per-view event when he takes on WBC World No.5 Reyneris Gutierrez for the WBC International Strawweight title.
The 25-year-old, who turned professional last November, is targeting a meteoric rise up the world rankings. In just his second pro fight, Winwood demolished former IBO World Champion Tibo Monabesa via a fourth-round TKO victory.
The win over Monabesa created opportunities for even more high-profile opponents for Winwood, which he has seized without hesitation. A fight against the world No.5 may seem daunting to some, but for Winwood, this is precisely how he saw his career progressing.
Instead of building up an inflated record against hand-picked opposition brought in to make him look good, Winwood wanted to continue where he left off from the amateurs, fighting at the sport's highest level.
"Transitioning out of my amateur career like I had that thought in my head that I didn't want to just go in and bash up some poor bastard from overseas or whatever that shouldn't really be in there, " he explains.
"That's the kind of mentality that [I had] going forward. I was like, look. I'm fighting the best in the world as an amateur at the moment; I don't see the need to go backwards. ' he added.
“Hopefully, in a few years [ when people look at] my record, their jaws drop, and they go 'far out, he did jump straight in there, and he beat all these blokes that had more experienced records than himself'."
Winwood may be blazing his own trail, but at Dragon Fire, he is surrounded by a team that knows what it takes to reach the top of the world stage. He recently spent six weeks in the United States with the Moloney twins, Jason and Andrew, as they prepared for their world title bouts against Vincent Astrolabio and Junto Nkatani, respectively.
"It's been an absolute honour and pleasure to be around the twins for the past year in the gym and for me to go away with them and train alongside them as they got ready for their title bouts," Winwood says.
"It was kind of like an inside foresight that not many boxers get to see in terms of what could be progressing in my career."
One of the benefits of his time in the U.S. was getting to train and spar with various fighters in the Top Rank gym. Observing some of the world's most famous fighters grinding it out brought home the reality for Winwood: once the tv cameras and spotlights have turned off, what really matters is how hard a boxer is willing to work to achieve their dream.
"There was just like all these big-time boxers in the one gym, and then it kind of clicked to me that we're all just boxers in a boxing gym, " he says.
"We all come from like a backyard shed somewhere or a street corner fighting somewhere, and we all end up in this one place. It was a privilege for me to be there and to realize that."
Winwood is fully aware of the work required to achieve his goal of becoming a world champion. He and his team want to make history by breaking Jeff Fenech's record and have Winwood become the fastest Australian to earn a world championship.
It is a lofty goal that brokers no distractions, not that Winwood would want it any other way.
" I've chucked a job in, I've moved state, packed it all up for boxing to work out, and so far, so good. So, I've got the blinders on, and I've got tunnel vision going forward, and over the next 5 to 10 years, this is what one's life is going to revolve around. I just want to get as much out of it as I can and enjoy the experience."

Exclusive Interview George Groves
Press Release: May 11, 2023 By https://neueonlinecasinos.io / Liam Solomon - In an exclusive interview with Neue Online Casinos, former WBA super-middleweight champion George Groves gives his insight into Eubank Jr’s career and his thoughts on the Smith loss and upcoming rematch.
Groves also gives his exclusive opinion on the heavyweight division.
If you would like to use the quotes in this interview, please link back to – https://neueonlinecasinos.io/
Use anchor text: NeueOnlineCasinos.io
Highlights from the interview:
Eubank JR might’ve had concussion going into the first Smith fight
Smith should be confident getting another win over Eubank JR
It’s a must win fight for Eubank JR
If Eubank JR wants to win he can’t fight like trainer Roy Jones
Prime Tyson Fury would beat prime David Haye
Full Transcript:
Question: With the Eubank Jr vs Smith rematch now set for June 17th, do you foresee a different outcome to the first fight?
George Groves: „I was there commentating on the first fight that night in Manchester and I thought Eubank was the favourite going into it and I picked him as the winner. I could see how a lot of people were making a case for Liam Smith, who’s a vastly experienced boxer and boxed at a high level as an amateur. He’s from a fighting family and had been in a pro gym for close to 10 years at the time. He’s a former world champion and always gave a really good account of himself and never been exposed.
I think the only time he’s been stopped was against Canelo actually. But I thought Eubank, who’s boxed up at super middleweight, he’s a very strong fighter with a high workrate and great punch output, punches correctly, decent punch power and great hand speed and up until that point a decent chin as well. He boxed me a super middleweight when I was No.1 in the world at that time. He boxed James DeGale, who was probably not firing on all cylinders but he’s been in there with Arthur Abraham and many others. But the first Smith fight was confusing. I definitely don’t think it was the best Eubank. Eubank didn’t look quite like himself. The resistance evaporated. He has to figure out why that happened, put his finger on it and make sure it doesn’t happen next time.
There’s an array of reasons why you can be flat on fight night and your punch resistance might not be there or your punch output or power aren’t right. He might have got camp wrong or picked up a slight virus in the build up, or misjudged the weight making. He might have got the weight down too early and been too lean. He might’ve taken a knock in sparring, which Smith was kind of hinting at in the press conference when they announced the second fight. Maybe he went into the fight with some sort of concussion, you always hope not of course. And you always hope trainers are always aware of that but there’s a lot on the line and fighters sometimes keep things under their hat or are maybe in a bit of denial of it.“
Q: Will the way Smith finished the first bout so comprehensively have left scars on the psyche of Eubank Jr?
GG: „Yes potentially. I thought Eubank would go in a different direction. I know he had the rematch and I know there would probably be a decent amount of money in it for him and it would’ve had to be on pay-per-view so it’s back on Sky Box Office so it has to get promoted right for that. The Conor Benn fight is a difficult one to make. It won’t be made in the UK so will have to be made abroad and is that the right fight for him? What weight could they do it at? Will there be a backlash from boxing fans because of it?
I don’t know how he evaluates Conor Benn and Liam Smith, but if those two boxed each other, you would say Smith would win comfortably. He’s naturally the bigger guy, more experienced and on a good run. Conor Benn is a lot less experienced and having a bit of a torrid time right now mentally. But Smith should be confident. What you see is what you get with him, he’s not going to reinvent the wheel at this stage. He can change and adapt subtly, but I’m not sure he’ll need to do too much differently.“
Q: Eubank recalled Roy Jones Jr to train him for the first bout, was that a mistake in hindsight?
GG: „I saw Eubank recently and he said he flying to Vegas and he said he was going to train out there so I don’t know if he’s bringing in Jones, who’s usually based in Florida or someone else who’s based in Vegas or whether he just wants to get out of the UK for this camp. Vegas is a tough place to live and train, but if you can put yourself in the hurt locker out there where it’s dog eat dog, then maybe that’s what he’s trying to get back to. But it’s an absolute must win fight for him regardless.“
Q: Is Eubank’s ego stopping him from realising his full potential or has he simply maxed out his talent?
GG: „He’s always been a tremendous athlete but that was almost at the expense of being a skillful fighter. He didn’t have a stellar amateur career, he didn’t have that pedigree so he brought in Roy Jones to teach him a thing or two and I think maybe Jones did make improvements but for Eubank I don’t think you want to get stuck in the middle of both. You don’t want to try and fight like Roy Jones Jr when essentially you just want to sit in the pocket and let your hands go.
If I’m working with Eubank now then I’d be saying ’sink your feet into the floor, sit in range don’t take any shots but don’t try to be clever and box off the back foot‘ because Liam Smith he is cool under pressure and fights with a high guard and has a go to chin. So you want to break him up downstairs with body shots and then impose your will on him in the second half of the fight. If Eubank is going to box off the back foot and try to play the jab game, then Smith could come up short because Eubank has got quite fast hands and a height and reach advantage.
It was weird how much the shots from Smith affected Eubank last time because they weren’t huge, mega shots and Smith’s not known for being a one punch knockout artist and coming up from light middleweight. So if his punch resistance is catching up with him as the years have gone on or something else has gone on, either way he needs to address it somehow.“
Q: It looks like Joshua vs Wilder is being lined up in December. As the saying goes, styles make fights so could you see that be a thriller?
GG: “I think that’s a great fight. Two big men who can punch hard and essentially that’s what the heavyweight division is about. When they both had the belts a few years back it might have been a bigger fight but it’s still going to get people intrigued now. The fighter who comes out on top is the one who doesn’t try to be too clever and just sticks with what they do and what they know. Both fighters have been guilty of that in the past when people have said to Wilder ‘you’re just a big puncher, you can’t box, there’s nothing else to you’ or they’ve said to Joshua ‘you’re too robotic, you’re too stiff, there’s so many elements missing from your game.’ They’ve both been dropped. They’ve both been off the floor to win at different times.
You’d think someone’s going to land some dynamite and then someone’s not going to get up. It’s a fight I’d love to see. Joshua punches very well but has that slight element of amateurish style where the flow isn’t quite there and I know that’s partly due to his size but spending some time out in the States with some American trainers now might make a difference and get the flow going a little bit better while also making him a harder target to punch and making him sharper and smoother in his shot selection.
Deontay Wilder is training with Malik Scott, who has a very philosophical approach to boxing and you can see that filtering through but we know Wider has a dynamite right hand. There’s been periods in fights where Wilder couldn’t let that shot go like against Luiz Ortiz where he was losing round after round and then right hand came out and it was game over. It’s a risky fight for both but it’s one we can all really sink our teeth into if it does get made.”
Q: Tony Bellew reckons peak David Haye would have beaten Tyson Fury. Do you agree?
GG: “I was in David Haye’s gym at the time when that fight was made. That fight was made several times but Haye had to pull out once with a cut in the week of the fight. And at that point, if Haye was on form I’d have picked him to win that fight. This was before Fury vs Klitschko. Fury was viewed very differently at that time to how he is now. Fury had been beaten by David Price in the ABAs and wasn’t selected to go to the Olympics, then turned pro with Mick Hennessey and fought on Channel 5. He really had to work hard to get noticed and this is before the rise of Anthony Joshua.
Now any sort of heavyweight with promise will have the spotlight shone on them. Back then, with Lennox Lewis retired it was Danny Williams leading from the front and it wasn’t exactly a golden era. Hayes would be giving away a lot of natural size but he’s got those lightning fast hands and could definitely whack. I wouldn’t pick a prime David Haye over a prime Tyson Fury purely because of the size difference and he would be too smart. But at that time I can see where Bellew is coming from yeah.”

DAZN And Matchroom Boxing Announce Three Year Extension Of U.S. And Mexico Broadcast Deals
Press Release: May 2, 2023 By DAZN - Matchroom and DAZN are delighted to announce a three-year extension to their broadcast deals in the USA and Mexico – a deal further cements Matchroom as a true global leader in boxing while also confirming DAZN as THE home of global combat sports with the platform available in over 200 territories.

Matchroom held their first event live on DAZN in October 2018 when Jessie Vargas took on Thomas Dulorme in Chicago, and since that night in the Windy City, President Eddie Hearn has teamed up with the global streaming giants to put on over 50 events in America and Mexico.
The first Mexico night took place in February 2019 when Humberto Soto defeated Brandon Rios in Tijuana, and Hearn has hosted seven more thrilling nights in the country and Matchroom’s latest event saw World-rated Lightweight Angel Fierro stop Eduardo Estela in Culiacan to move closer to World title action. Matchroom are in a strong position in Mexico after Mauricio Lara joined Juan Francisco Estrada and Julio Cesar Martinez as World champions from the boxing hotbed with his stunning KO win over Leigh Wood in Nottingham, England to become WBA Featherweight ruler, as they meet in a rematch in Manchester, England in May.
Matchroom kicked off 2023 in America in style with a double-header of Undisputed World title action in New York that saw Amanda Serrano and Alycia Baumgardner crowned the undisputed rulers at Featherweight and Super-Featherweight respectively and San Antonio had it’s first two-weight World champion in April, as future pound-for-pound star Jesse Rodriguez bravely boxed on with a broken jaw to add the WBO Flyweight crown to the Super-Flyweight strap he won and defended in style in 2022.
The blockbuster action continues in May as Canelo Alvarez defends his undisputed Super-Middleweight crown against and John Ryder in what promises to be a spectacular homecoming for the Mexican hero in Guadalajara on Cinco de Mayo weekend. The next action in America sees Hearn’s newest signing in action as Super-Middleweight star Edgar Berlanga faces Jason Quigley in New York in June, with the Brooklyn-based Puerto Rican KO artist the latest addition to a stacked Stateside stable along with young talents Criztec Bazaldua and Yankiel Rivera, with promoter Eddie Hearn ready to add more great nights and fighters to the already stacked schedule with this announcement.
“I am delighted to announce this extension to our deal with DAZN in the US and Mexico,” said Hearn. “DAZN’s schedule is without doubt the best in the sport, and our big nights in the States and all-action cards in Mexico are a massive part of that.
“This new deal means more Undisputed, Unified and World title blockbusters, more 50-50 wars with the top contenders and more showcasing the best rising talent in the region – and we’re ready to provide further thrilling action and value for the DAZN subscribers.”
“We are delighted to be extending our relationship with Matchroom Boxing in the US,” said Joseph Markowski, CEO North America, DAZN Group. “Since we entered the market five years ago, we have made significant strides to become the global home of boxing, consistently delivering the best schedule in market. 2023 will be no different, with the biggest names fighting on the biggest stages in the coming months. With our best-in-class broadcast, matched with Matchroom’s best-in-class promotion, we are incredibly excited about expanding our partnership in the years to come.”
