The twelve round bout, which can be seen later tonight on pay-per-view,  is a rematch of a highly controversial bout in May of this year in which Jack became a two-time WBC Cruiserweight world champion by defeating Mikaeljan via twelve round majority decision.  As was the case in the first fight, the WBC World Cruiserweight championship, will be on the line in the second encounter that was mandated by the World Boxing Council .  We are planning to have a post-fight column here on The Boxing Truth® during the week following the bout and will update readers on when it will be released once scheduled.. Conlan Looks To Build Momentum

It can be a cliche, but those who are familiar with the sport of Boxing and really combat sports as a whole, know that there are several stages throughout a fighter's career. Such stages have been chronicled numerous times by this observer in covering countless fighters over the last three decades that I have covered combat sports, and have been discussed as a focal point when a fighter either prepares to enter a new phase or as that fighter is on the rise up the ranks. One such fighter that saw such a rise is Featherweight contender Michael Conlan. Conlan, a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland is a two-time Olympian and former Olympic Bronze Medalist. Upon turning professional in 2017, Conlan went on to win sixteen straight bouts leading to a world championship bout when he challenged then WBA World Featherweight champion Leigh Wood in March 2022. In a grueling back and forth fight where he was ahead on all three judges scorecards, Conlan would find himself on the receiving end of...

Broner-Cobbs Preview

The recent career of former four-division world champion Adrien Broner is one that is going through a new beginning. A beginning that began with his signing with Hall of Fame promoter Don King after a highly publicized split with the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) group of promoters and manager Al Haymon last year, which led to his return to the ring in June of last year with a ten round unanimous decision over Bill Hutchinson. Some might recall in this observer’s coverage of that fight, I stated that the most important thing for Broner would be to stay active if he were to re-emerge among the top contenders if he hoped to get another opportunity at a world championship. Unfortunately for Broner, an injury suffered in training delayed what would have been a relatively quick return earlier this year. Now healed, Broner will return to action on June 7th as he will face Blair Cobbs at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL. A fight that can be seen on combat sports strea...
