BREAKING: IBF Withdraws Sanctioning of Opetaia-Glanton, Fight To Be For Vacsnt Zuffa Boxing World Cruiserweight Championship Only

In a developing story, on Friday evening, the International Boxing Federation ( IBF ) has withdrawn its sanctioning of Sunday’s Cruiserweight championship bout between its champion Jai Opetaia and Brandon Glanton. The decision comes following Zuffa Boxing’s, who will be promoting the bout, refusal to acknowledge independent sanctioning organizations or outside promoters, choosing instead to have their own championships and rankings in house.  While the latter represents a subject that will have ramifications and possible litigation between the promoter and independent sanctioning organizations as well as outside promoters, the IBF’s decision, in essence strips the undefeated Opetaia of the IBF World Cruiserweight championship regardless of the outcome of Sunday’s contest. The bout, however, will go forward as scheduled with the vacant Zuffa Boxing World Cruiserweight title on the line. BREAKING: Benn Named Number One Welterweight Contender By WBC

It was announced earlier today by the World Boxing Council ’s ( WBC ) annual convention in Bangkok, Thailand that Conor Benn , who recently scored a twelve round unanimous decision in his rematch with former two-division world champion Chris Eubank Jr. on November 15th in a bout held in the 154lb. Jr. Middleweight division , has been named the new WBC number one contender in the 147lb. Welterweight division . This announcement puts Benn as a replacement for previous number one contender and Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao , who fought to a draw in July of this year with current WBC World Welterweight champion Mario Barrios . Barrios is rumored to be nearing a title defense early in 2026 against Welterweight contender Ryan Garcia , which has not been officially announced as of this writing. As for Manny Pacquiao, his next move as he intends to continue his comeback in 2026 is uncertain as of this writing. We will keep readers updated on developments as they are made available. BREAKING: Usyk Vacates WBO World Heavyweight Championship, Wardley Now WBO World Champion

According to Sky Sports in the United Kingdom, Oleksandr Usyk the undefeated two-time Undisputed Heavyweight champion of the world, and one time former Undisputed Cruiserweight world champion has chosen to relinquish the WBO World Heavyweight championship . BREAKING: Fundora-Thurman Postponed

It has been announced that the October 25th pay-per-view card headlined by a bout between WBC Jr. Middleweight world champion Sebastian Fundora defending his title against former WBA Welterweight world champion Keith Thurman , which was scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV and streamed on Prime Video has been postponed due to a hand injury suffered by the champion. It has also been reported by noted Boxing journalist Mike Coppinger , currently of Ring Magazine that the scheduled co-main event, a WBC World Jr. Lightweight championship bout between between champion O'Shaquie Foster and former Jr. Featherweight world champion Stephen Fulton , will also be rescheduled. BREAKING: SERRANO NOT CLEARED TO COMPETE, TITLE DEFENSE AGAINST MEINKE CANCELLED

The scheduled twelve, three minute round Women's Unified World Featherweight champion Amanda Serrano and Nina Meinke, which was to main event a Most Valuable Promotions card held this evening Saturday,March 2nd) at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico was cancelled moments before it was to take place. In an announcement made to the sell out crowd, it was revealed by an emotional champion Serrano that she was not cleared to compete due to an eye injury that is currently affecting her vision. BREAKING: Helenius Steps In To Face Joshua, Card To Go On As Scheduled

It has been announced that longtime Heavyweight contender and former European Heavyweight champion Robert Helenius will step in on a little more than four days notice to face former two-time Heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua on Saturday, August 12th at the O2 Arena in London, England. Helenius steps in after the originally scheduled rematch between Joshua and former world title challenger Dillian Whyte was cancelled by promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing following Whyte testing positive for a yet to be named banned substance, which was described by Matchroom as quote "An adverse finding" in a test conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency ( VADA ) in which both Joshua and Whyte are enrolled. BREAKING: Gonzalez Withdraws From Unification Bout With Teraji Due To Illness

It has been announced that the April 8th Jr. Flyweight world championship unification bout between WBC world champion Kenshiro Teraji and WBO world champion Johnathan Gonzalez has been called off. The bout, which was scheduled for April 8th at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan and was to include the vacant WBA world championship in the 108lb. Jr. Flyweight division was called off when Gonzalez had to withdraw from the bout after coming down with pneumonia. As of this writing, an attempt is being made by promoters and Teraji 's handlers to secure a substitute opponent in what one would assume would be an attempt to not only maintain the April 8th date, but also a defense of his WBC world championship. The Teraji-Gonzalez unification bout was scheduled to be streamed here in the United States on digital subscription sports streaming network ESPN+ .
