Press Release: August 25, 2018 (Originally released August 23, 2018) by Sanman Promotions – Super-Bantamweight prospect Ben Mananquil W16 L1 D3 gallantly fought Japanese foe Hinata Maruta W7 L1 D0 in a close contest that ended up in a split draw. The warrior from Sanman Stable of General Santos City negated the six-inch height advantage of Maruta by capitalizing on his speed. Mananquil worked on the body of the lanky Japanese but was just too durable to go down.
“I believe I did enough to win the decision. I know it was close but I got him despite his height. It was difficult but I knew I could beat him”, Mananquil stated.
Sanman Promotions CFO Dexted Tan was contented with their ward’s performance. “Ben did a great performance. We are happy with his showing. But we observed he is more effective in a lower weight class thus we want to bring him back to bantamweight..”
The event was staged at The Flash Grand Ballroom, Elorde Sports Complex, Parañaque City.
